Change is in the Air...

How quickly things can change. My 16 year old step-daughter was living with her father and I, until Saturday. I found out Wednesday night she was moving to FL with her natural mother...talk about spur of the moment.

On a good note...change is in the air for...Moi! I have decided to go back to school...this was not a spur of the moment decision. I already have my letters of recommendation from 3 people, my application, and my MAT testing date ready. Eric is fully supporting this decision of my return to school.  What am I going to school for, you ask? No..not my PhD...I'm not ready for that. I am getting my 2nd Master's. This is in Rehabilitation Counseling. Say a prayer, and keep your fingers crossed, that I'll be accepted to the program. The deadline for applying is June 15, so stay tuned!

Another note-worthy item...The Collingwood House will be hosting an exchange student this fall. Her birthday is today...HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELINE!!! She is 17, and from Holland. We're all very excited!

Chez got a retainer today, pics to follow!

Izzie is adapting to life as a 1 yr old, puppy quite well. She is so mellow now, and loves playing still. She is listening so well, and even crawls into her kennel when she's tired.

That's about all for now.

A Day for... NOT REAL...Mothers

Well, this is an interesting day to celebrate. Now that I am a step-mom, I feel that people don't celebrate Mother's Day for us...NOT REAL...Mothers. This made me very sad today. Yes, 2 of my 3 step-kids wished me a Happy Day, and so did my wonderful hubby...but family members...none to be mentioned...didn't even have the nerve to write a small txt, send a message on FB, or heaven forbid...CALL! Every Mother I saw today, young or old, I wished a Happy Mother's Day too. A lot said it back, and that was great, but I don't feel that being a step-parent is looked upon the same way. I raise children, and do everything I can for them. They are mine, and I treat them as my own.
Thank goodness for the few that actually cared enough to say something...you know who you are.
